No, the Barkenhoff does not exclusively showcase works by Heinrich Vogeler, although he is at the center of the permanent exhibition. The museum is also dedicated to the history of the Worpswede artists' colony and the cultural and social movements that influenced Heinrich Vogeler and his era. The carriage house (Remise) of the Barkenhoff complements the permanent exhibition in the main building and provides space for temporary exhibitions, often focusing on modern and contemporary art as well as thematic highlights. The combination of the Vogeler permanent exhibition at the Barkenhoff and the contemporary themes in the Remise makes a visit a varied and inspiring experience.
